The chicks are growing quickly so I decided to give them more room by cutting a new door in their brooder. This gives them access to the rest of the chicken coop. The first day, a couple of brave chicks walked through the door. By the third day, all the chicks were enjoying exploring outside the brooder. The ladies can now all fly to the top of the box and perch. Next step, I’ll remove the cardboard boxes. That is probably going to happen in the next few days.
Above you can see the boxes inside the small coop we built. Hubby has been working on a bigger coop that sits inside our pole barn. Once it is finished, I’ll post pictures. For now, the chicks are still in the house where it is nice and warm.
